Local Priorities Dangerous driving / speeding Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding dangerous driving and speeding, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Some residents highlighted to the team speeding in the following roads BANSTEAD ROAD, STANLEY ROAD and STANLEY PARK ROAD. The roads and transport policing team attended each road on a couple of occasions to conduct speed gun checks on different days and times. Over 1000 vehicles were checked with only four vehicles over the designated speed limit. This does not meet the threshold to bring it to the attention of the council.

If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.
