Newquay Night Bus

You may have seen some posts about the night bus which ran in Newquay across May to September - for those that didn't, it was a late-night Saturday bus service introduced to help tackle drink driving offences, as well as ASB and violence against women and girls.

This year, over 740 people use the Saturday-service to get home safely.

We also saw a 50% reduction in public order and sexual offences reported to us in the months the bus was running.

Insp Steve Johnson said: “The bus has been a great addition, complimenting the high-vis patrols our officers carry out a to deter offenders whilst also providing a reassurance to those enjoying their night out.

“It’s encouraging to see that all of these factors have contributed to the reduction in reports.”
