Dear Resident,

Halloween is fast approaching and we'd like to reassure you that Police in Hertsmere are doing everything we can to make the time an enjoyable time for all. 

We will be visiting local shops/stores and providing posters along with advice on the sale of fireworks, eggs, flour etc.

Extra high visibility patrols will be conducted in your local areas specifically tackling calls related to ASB / Fireworks.

Attached are some of the posters you may see up in your area or in local shops.

Local Schools have ben asked to remind their students of how something that may feel like a joke/bit of fun to them can effect others and cause long term affects.

Remember to keep your pets inside and if possible have some background noise to dull any sounds from nearby fireworks.

Please try to attend special events and if possible avoid private functions. These can cause extra stress to neighbours, be unsafe, cause fires/injuries and frighten nearby animals/pets.

The main thing to remember is have a great time, dress up and eat plenty of candy!
