Vehicle Crime Alert & CCTV Request - Crompton Way / Ainsworth Lane Areas

Good Morning ;

We are currently investigating several reports of Thefts from unattended vehicles that have occurred in the Tonge Fold Area between Crompton Way and Ainsworth Lane.

We have received several reports of vehicles being entered, searched and items being stolen from within. The offences have occurred overnight between Midnight and 7AM between 7th and 11th October 2025.
 

We would be grateful if residents in the area, particularly Turner Bridge Road and Dudley Avenue areas could check any CCTV footage, doorbell cameras, dash cams etc that may have captured footage of anyone behaving suspiciously in the area at these times.

In the event you find any footage that you feel may be of interest to officers, please preserve this footage by saving it or downloading it from the device and get in touch by replying to this message, emailing: 66033@gmp.police.uk or Texting 07391 409 252 (sorry no whatsapp) with your name, telephone number or email address and we will then be able to send you a link to upload the footage to our CCTV Portal.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Priority Crime Team, The Neighbourhood Policing Team and Forensic Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) are working hard to bring the offenders to justice and will be increasing activity in the affected areas.
 

Please remember to ensure that vehicles are locked when vehicles are unattended particularly when locking up at bed time - check, check and check again. 

Remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately to GMP using 999.
