Earlier this month, Fylde Rural Task Force attended the Neighbourhood Policing Awards where we won the award for Lancashire Constabulary Neighbourhood Team of the Year!
Our team was set up in January 2024 to disrupt and target crime in rural areas across Fylde, as well as building relationships with our rural and farming communities.
From hare coursing and cockerel fighting, to vehicle crime and drug dealing... here's a recap of some of our results:
🧑⚖️ Multiple court convictions secured with a combined total of 22 years in prison sentences
💰 Approximately £80,000 in cash seized in relation to drug supply and money laundering with defendants being ordered to pay back £233,000 made from the proceeds of crime
🚪 22 drug warrants executed with £275,000 of drugs seized and taken off the streets of Fylde
🐶 5 animal welfare act warrants executed alongside RSPCA with numerous animals including dogs, snakes, horses, bearded dragons, fish and an axolotl seized to be rehomed
🚗 16 arrests made for vehicle crime offences with charges and convictions secured
🚜 Stolen property including vehicles, motorbikes, farming machinery and equipment recovered and returned to victims
🐔 Cockerel fighting ring uncovered in Lytham with 2 males arrested and 30 cockerels seized
🌎 International OCG uncovered setting up cannabis grows across rural locations (from Fylde to Belfast!) resulting in numerous arrests and prison sentences
🍺 15 arrests made for drink and drug drivers resulting in convictions with a combined total of 25 and a half years in driving bans
This would not have been possible without the support and investment of our Fylde community. We hope this reassures you that we are listening and we do act upon your issues and concerns. Although we may not always tell you everything that we are doing, we hope this gives you the confidence that we are always working hard behind the scenes to achieve these results.
With your help, lets see where we can take it next year!
