We’re reminding residents to take simple steps to help prevent burglary and protect their homes.

Burglars often target homes that appear unoccupied or unsecured. You can reduce the risk by:

Locking all doors and windows, even when you're at home.

Using timer switches on lights to give the impression someone is in.

Keeping valuables out of sight and away from windows.

Avoiding leaving keys in obvious places like under doormats or plant pots.

Installing visible security measures such as alarms, CCTV, or motion-activated lighting.
