Ongoing Activity at Blithfield

Last night Staffordshire Police received a call regarding a large gathering of vehicles at Blithfield Reservoir.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that there was a gathering and received authorisation for any required pursuit of vehicles and consideration for use of stingers. Thankfully none of these were required and the gathered vehicles slowly vacated the area. Officers remained on scene after they had left to ensure they did not return.

I wanted to thank the community for to call these reports in, and ask you to continue to do so. I am still gathering valuable data for an upcoming meeting with other agencies regarding the ongoing issues in the area, some of which comes directly from residents.

To better gather data from this area, I have created a Form for residents to complete. This is not in lieu of an official call to Police via 101/digital reporting/LiveChat but is a means of gathering data to present at the upcoming meeting. So far I only have a small number of responses so if you see or hear anything please do let us know.

I will send out an Alert soon with a date and time in December where I will compile any physical records of the ongoing issues at Blithfield and the surrounding lanes. It is also an opportunity to meet with residents who I haven't spoken with yet in the 5 years (on and off) I have had this patch so we can discuss the issues in more detail, and so you can meet your local PCSO.

I realise this message will reach beyond my patch onto the Rugeley area but all are welcome at the drop in as I know this affects more than just the residents on my patch, and you all deserve the chance to raise this concern in person.
