Think Car |
||
This week I have been dealing with Mental health jobs, Patrolling the area in a car, on foot and bike. What I want to talk about is RTC’s, I have attended a few RTC’s and aware of more across the wider area of Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley. Be safe when out and about! Roads are wet and slippery. With the weather changing for winter, so needs your driving. Think about stopping distances being extended and watch your speed. Visibility can be difficult in the cold morning or the grey days with rain.
The week coming Oldington, Foley and Sutton Park SNT want you to think “CAR” Keep you vehicle safe, where are you parking it? A secured garage is best, parking your vehicle out of view is one of the best ways to prevent opportunist theft. If you don’t have gates, a vehicle bollard will provide an extra visible deterrent. CCTV and lighting will also help deter thieves. When not in use either at home, when out and about or on holiday – store your keys in a security pouch. Security pouches are sometimes termed Faraday bags or RFID signal blockers/shields, these pouches will prevent the signal from your vehicle being captured using electronic devices Don’t leave your keys in the hallway near the front door as fishing for vehicle keys through the letterbox is a prominent method of stealing them. Grabbing the signal will be easier for the thieves if the keys are near the front door Consider using physical security like a steering wheel lock or wheel clamp as modern car thieves prefer not to attack these types of physical security devices as they want to get away quickly without getting caught. I have done extra patrols in these areas so get in touch if you have concerns, we will come out when we can.

West Mercia Police recognise dyslexia and support officers and staff within there roles. This may be through initial screening or technology to assist. Don’t let dyslexia prevent you from applying to West Merica in any role. #GreatPlaceToWork Black history month Celebrating our community and inspired by the people in it. This years slogan is “Standing Firm in Power and Pride” It is unfortunate that we do get hate crime in our force, but West Mercia Police is focused on tackling it.
