Cash for Crash Incident |
||
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding dangerous driving and speeding, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Safer Neighbourhood team Officers have today been carrying out foot patrol and playing close attention to the connection of roads located between BOSTON ROAD and NORTHFIELD AVENUE, due to recent concerns raised by residents related to Cash for Crash incidents involving suspects using Mopeds and Motorcycles. We encourage you to report any such road traffic collision where there is suspicion of such, to report it to Insurance Fraud Bureau’s confidential CheatLine on 0800 422 0421 or insurancefraudbureau.org/cheatline. However in case of emergency which may include a case of injury or where you feel in immediate danger or risk of harm to please call 999 in first instance. As well as reporting it by this means, you also provide the SNT-Northfield with relevant intelligence such as registrations for suspect vehicles involved, descriptions of suspects involved, times/dates when the incident occurred as well as the location so we can tailor our patrols to suit this area. If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.
Activities such as street racing, cruising or performing tricks can count as anti-social behaviour. If you are concerned about this in your area, visit our website for the latest guidance and how you can report this. You can also report dangerous driving in your area.
We are working on our brand-new strategy for how we police London and we want your help. Our New Met for London: Phase 2 strategy will guide how we deliver on behalf of Londoners over the next three years.
