Court No-Show and Weapon Woe - Piccadilly Police on a Roll |
||
|
The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team continued their proactive work in Manchester City Centre today, arresting two individuals during routine patrols.
One person was detained after failing to appear at court, while another was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon and affray. The swift interventions came as part of the team’s ongoing efforts to maintain safety and reassure the public in one of the city’s busiest areas.
Sergeant Jon Wyatt, of the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team, praised the officers involved, saying:
“The quick actions of our officers today demonstrate their dedication and professionalism. Their approach reflects the pedagogy of modern neighbourhood policing — combining quick thinking, sound judgement, and strong community engagement to keep people safe.”
The Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team regularly patrols the area, engaging with residents, businesses, and visitors as part of their community policing strategy. The team’s ongoing presence in the community is central to Greater Manchester Police’s wider commitment to tackling antisocial behaviour and maintaining public confidence. Anyone with information about crime or antisocial behaviour in the area is encouraged to contact Greater Manchester Police or report anonymously via Crimestoppers.
