Quarterly Priorities for Wirksworth, Middleton by Wirksworth, Matlock Bath, Cromford and Bonsall - October - December 2025

Hello All

Your Inspector has chosen speeding as the Priority for Wirksworth and Matlock Bath as these 2 areas have highlighted the most concern about the issue, through Derbyshire Alert, Community Catch Ups and Parish/Town Council meetings.

So over the next few month your Safer Neighbourhood Team will be out and about conducting checks in those areas mainly and will pop up around Middleton by Wirksworth, Cromford and Bonsall!

We aim to work to minimise these issues and address your concerns over the coming months and work with partner agencies where required - updates will be posted on our social media channel, Derbyshire Alert and monthly newsletter!

Community Speed Watch - update...

Today saw the first outing for Wirksworth Community Speed Watch Group - although a little slow to start (as there was not much traffic), the group soon got into the swing of things and 8 drivers were caught exceeding the 30MPH speed limit!

Middleton by Wirksworth Community Speed Watch Group have shown with the data they have collected, that a visit from the CREST speed enforcement van was needed and they did - we very thankful that this has happened and with continued support from the group and CREST we hope to reduce the issue of speeding.

Your Safer Neighbourhood Team have yet to catch up with the Cromford Speed Watch Group - and hope to do so soon!
