Led by Police and Crime Commissioners and Chief Constables with support from the Home Office, the national Safer Streets Summer campaign was launched on Monday 30 June.
This initiative brought together police forces and partner agencies to focus on crime prevention, community engagement and high-visibility policing where it matters most.
We are proud to have taken part in the campaign over the past three months, with our Neighbourhood Policing Teams particularly focusing on tackling ASB in Lancashire
Our officers and staff have been…
Seizing nuisance motorbikes, e-bikes and e-scooters
Working with shopkeepers to help reduce instances of shoplifting
Stepping up visible patrols in problem areas
Using our anti-social behaviour powers.
Some seized e-scooters & e-bikes
Our stats for Safer Streets Summer include…
Over 500 arrests made in town centres
Over 900 community engagement events attended
Over 700 partner patrols undertaken
Over 7,00 stakeholders visited, including shops, schools, shops and local businesses
Over 500 ASB powers used to protect the public.
Our officers and staff work hard all year round to keep our communities safe and our town centres welcoming for everyone.
The ‘Summer of Action’ has enabled us to develop an even stronger focus on targeting offenders and engagement with our communities.
Initiatives like Operation Centurion and Op Vulture have already made a real difference in tackling anti-social behaviour and shoplifting.
We have dealt with this demand with focus and a determination to deliver in tackling local issues and have sent a clear message that ASB and offences such as shoplifting, assaults on shop workers, personal theft and riding dangerous and illegal e-bikes and e-scooters will not be tolerated in Lancashire.
