Mildenhall drink-driver disqualified |

A 51-year-old woman has been disqualified from driving after being found two times over the drink-driving limit.
Nicola Charalambous, of Folly Road, Mildenhall appeared at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 8 October, where she was found guilty of drink driving and driving without due care and attention. She was disqualified from driving for 18 months.
The incident occurred around 6:30pm on 19 May 2024 off Folly Road, Mildenhall when police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a Volkswagen Polo car being in collision with a garden fence and wall.
The driver, Charalambous, failed a roadside breath test and was found to have 80 micrograms per 100ml of breath (the legal limit is 35 micrograms) She was arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where she failed a further breath test providing a sample of 73 micrograms of alcohol in 100 ml of breath.
In addition to being disqualified from driving for 18 months (this could be reduced by 18 weeks on completion of a Government approved course), Charalambous was also fined £180 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £144, plus £650 in costs.
