Thursday 9th October 2025 Sussex Alerts - Eastbourne Police Hate Crime Awareness Week Events Hate Crime Awareness Week Events Eastbourne This week is Hate Crime Awareness Week (11th-17th October), and we are working with partners across the county to raise awareness, talk about what a hate crime is, the impact it has on victims and the wider community and how to report.
We will be holding a number of events to speak to as many people as possible during the week of awareness*.

Monday 13th from 09:00-12:00 inside The Beacon Shopping Centre
Monday 13th through to Wednesday 15th from 10:00-12:00 each morning at our Eastbourne Police POD where officers will be working from before heading into the town centre to visit local businesses.
Thursday 16th from 10:00-12:00 at Eastbourne Train Station with a number of partners including CrimeStoppers, Victim Support and BTP.
Friday 17th from 10:00-11:00 at Eastbourne EDGH in the main foyer.
*In addition to public events, Officers will also be visiting a number of local community groups during the week, with drop in sessions planned at venues of faith, worship and religion, play and activity groups for young children and adults with learning difficulties, as well as meetings with our Global Majority shops and charities and our LGBTQIA+ communities across Eastbourne.
Hate crime is someone being targeted due to their disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, transgender identity or any perceived difference.
Hate crime harms victims and our communities, and the impact it causes cannot be underestimated.
