Each quarter Neighbourhood priorities are set. We remain committed to proactive policing, community engagement and crime reduction efforts. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping our approach and together we can work towards a safer, stronger community. After consultation with you our community and reviewing our crime data, we have decided on our Safer Neighbourhood Team Priorities for the next quarter. They are as follows: 1.To enhance road safety by addressing offences such as highway obstruction, speeding and the anti-social use of vehicles. 2.Prevent and detect serious acquisitive crime, with a particular focus on offences involving motor vehicles. In relation to Road Safety, we will: Conduct regular high visibility and plains clothes patrols in known hotspot areas. Deploy Community Speed watch where appropriate. Attend local meetings to gather feedback and share updates. Promote road safety awareness through school visits and youth engagement sessions. Take proactive enforcement action against offences such as obstruction, speeding, and anti-social driving. Work with Roads Policing Unit for joint operations where necessary. Collaborate with local councils to identify infrastructure improvements (signage, traffic calming). Liaise with Highways and CCTV teams to support evidence gathering and deterrence. Share updates and crime prevention advice via Derbyshire Alert and social media. Publicise successful interventions to reassure the community and encourage reporting. In relation to acquisitive crime, we will: Deploy high visibility and plain clothes patrols in areas identified through crime trend analysis. Focus on locations with previous reports of vehicle theft and theft from vehicles. Distribute vehicle crime prevention advice through Derbyshire Alert, social media, and Community events. Promote the use of security measures such as steering locks, CCTV, and vehicle marking schemes. Engage with residents and businesses to raise awareness of current crime trends and encourage reporting. Attend local meetings to gather intelligence and share updates on police activity. Work with local and national teams such as National Police Chief’s Council, operation Opal to identify and disrupt offenders involved in organised vehicle crime. Conduct stop checks and use ANPR where appropriate Collaborate with local authorities, NHW and vehicle security organisations. Regularly review crime data and community feedback to assess our impact Adjust patrol and engagement strategies based on emerging intelligence. |
