New Neighbourhood Priorities set.

Each quarter Neighbourhood priorities are set. Whilst each area has its own specific priorities, in addition, Inspector Craig has implemented the following overarching community safety initiatives: 

1) High Visibility Patrols in identified crime and anti-social behaviour hotspots to enhance public reassurance and deter criminal activity 

2) Targeted Crime prevention advice and guidance to support victims of residential burglaries and reduce future risks 

3) Dedicated Patrols focused on deterring and locating offenders involved in vehicle crime 

4) Firm Action against individuals found carrying knives, prioritising public safety and crime prevention. 

We remain committed to proactive policing, community engagement and crime reduction efforts. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping our approach and together we can work towards a safer, stronger community. After consultation with you our community and reviewing our crime data, we have decided on our Safer Neighbourhood Team Priorities for the next quarter. The new priorities are as follows: 

1. To enhance road safety by addressing offences such as highway obstruction, speeding and the anti-social use of vehicles.

2. To prevent and detect crimes and Anti-Social Behaviour in Lowes Lane and the surrounding areas.

1. In relation to Road Safety, we will:
Conduct regular high visibility and plains clothes patrols in known hotspot areas. Deploy Community Speed watch where appropriate.
Attend local meetings to gather feedback and share updates.
Promote road safety awareness through school visits and youth engagement sessions.
Take proactive enforcement action against offences such as obstruction, speeding, and anti-social driving
Work with Roads Policing Unit for joint operations where necessary
Collaborate with local councils to identify infrastructure improvements (signage, traffic calming).
Liaise with Highways and CCTV teams to support evidence gathering and deterrence.
Share updates and crime prevention advice via Derbyshire Alert and social media
Publicise successful interventions to reassure the community and encourage reporting.

 

2. In relation to ASB in Lowes Lane and the surrounding area, we will:
Continue to work closely with our partners as part of our joint problem management approach, focusing on both prevention and enforcement of crimes involving anti-social behaviour, particularly those linked to the use of vehicles and drugs.
This includes ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders such as the local council and Environmental Health, who share, responsibility for maintaining safety and wellbeing in the area.
To support this work, we will maintain a proactive presence through a combination of high visibility and plain-clothes targeted patrols, informed by crime trend analysis and community intelligence.
