The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 |
||
A dog owner from the St Blazey area has been summonsed to court following an incident in in late 2024 where it was alleged that his dog, whilst loose in a local park, bit a Royal Mail worker who was completing his rounds. Under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 it is a criminal offence for any dog breed to be dangerously out of control anywhere such as; - in a public place - in a private place such as a neighbour's house or garden - in the owner's home "Dangerously out of control" may be considered as injuring another person or animal or causing someone to fear injury. The incident is a worthwhile reminder to dog owners to ensure that their dogs are kept under proper control in public places.
