A further update on the gas leak on Goose House Lane

Dear residents,

We are pleased to say that Cadent Gas have put a temporary fix in the place following a third-party caused a rupture of the gas mains on Goose House Lane, Darwen on Tuesday afternoon.

The fix means those residents who have been evacuated will now be able to return to their homes shortly.

Work will be taking place on Wednesday to provide a permanent fix and as such there will still be localised road closures in place on Wednesday.

We want to thank the local community for their patience whilst we have been dealing with this incident and encourage those in area to keep a look out on Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council's Facebook and website pages for further updates.
