Good Evening Resident
The team wanted to share the good news stories that have occurred in the local area this month, following the work the team has been doing. This is the work that the teams of Beckenham Town and Copers Cope, Clock House, Kelsey and Eden Park and Shortlands and Park Langley have been a part of.
The teams have been heavily abstracted over the last month, however where shifts and resourcing has allowed the teams to have done some good work.
The Kelsey and Eden Park Team have been working closely with Tesco’s Elmers End, they have managed to get a barrier to be put in place which will be happening in the coming week. In the meantime, there has been a temporary barrier in place. Since then, there has been no reports of any vehicle ASB.
All four teams have conducted several vehicle stops where the has been over 400 vehicles checked as a result a number of E-Bikes and Cars have been seized. Whilst involved in a community meeting the Kesley and Eden Park team was flagged down by a member of public in regard to concerns around a driver, the team have stopped the driver and arrested him for driving whilst over the legal limit and driving not in accordance with a licence.
The Clock House team have conducted an environmental audit in some of the roads, providing residents with an opportunity to walk round with officers to discuss what can be done to keep their vehicles and properties safe within the local area.
All four teams have had a focus on shoplifting over the last month, which has resulted in several arrests and as a result has had some of the individuals charged. The teams are working with the shops to get people identified and tackle shoplifting.
Off duty result: PC Fenlon was off duty, out walking in with his family when he saw four youths appearing from a road on a moped. The youths had stolen a delivery driver’s moped and made off. PC Fenlon travelled to a known location where stolen vehicles have previously been located. PC Fenlon identified the four males near this area, from matching clothing, and observed them trying to open various compartments of the moped. As a result, two individuals were arrested, and the vehicle was returned to its owner.
There are two warrants in the process of being obtained by Shortlands and Clockhouse across the wards, one is in regards to two dangerous dogs and the other for being concerned in the supply of drugs.
Beckenham Town Team has issued a come to notice letter to an owner of a dog following an incident. Thankfully there were no injuries but due to the nature of the incident officers have liaised with the Dog Support Unit and the owner is being monitored.
There has been works around upcoming operations regarding Theft of Motor Vehicles and Burglaries by Shortlands and Clockhouse officers. These will be executed over the coming months and will look at targeting high priority roads at key times. In addition the Kelsey and Eden Park team are setting up an operation to target drug offences and Anti-Social Behaviour.
