Safer School Contracts- School Patrols

Good afternoon,

I just want to send an alert out to residents after some concern was raised by some parents this afternoon to a local Primary school regarding some police presence at the end of the school day. 

Police officers and PCSOs regularly patrol their local primary schools as part of the ‘Safer Schools Contract’ which is an agreement which Humberside Police and local schools have in place. Today, two PCSO's were outside of a school in East Hull at the end of the school day which has unintentionally caused some concern to parents who saw the officers. 

The reason why we patrol around the school is for reassurance and it is also an opportunity for parents to come and speak to us about any issues that they may have. In this case, it was on the back of a report of anti-social parking on the street during busy school times, and police presence has deterred this. 

I just want to reassure parents that our presence at the schools is not anything to worry about, and that we encourage people to come and engage with us and say hello!
