Theft of Parcel Shelves

In the last couple of weeks there have been several Thefts from motor vehicles of rear Parcel Shelves in your neighbourhood. 

Please stay vigilant and follow the crime prevention advice below.

1) Always ensure you lock your vehicle, even if you only intend to be away from it for a short period.
2) Fully close all windows and the sunroof to prevent ‘fishing’.
3) If parked overnight, remove the parcel shelf from your vehicle and leave it indoors.
4) If for whatever reason you are unable to remove your parcel shelf, then try to park the rear of your vehicle as close to your property or a wall as possible. Most Thefts of parcel shelf involve smashing the rear window in order to gain access to it.
5) If you do not have off-street parking, then park your vehicle in a well-lit or busy area or under CCTV coverage. Especially when parking overnight.
