Prolific Shoplifter Jailed

A prolific shoplifter has been sentenced to 25 weeks in prison and handed a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), following determined efforts by local police officers to tackle repeat offending in the area.

The offender, who had been responsible for numerous thefts from stores across Hackney, was arrested and brought before the courts after a thorough investigation and proactive policing by neighbourhood officers.

The CBO will remain in place for the next five years, placing strict conditions on the individual’s behaviour once released, including restrictions designed to protect local businesses and deter further offending.
