Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch
The Hadfield Community Speed Watch volunteers conducted a speed watch event on Woolleybridge Road, Hadfield, this afternoon, Monday 6th October between 2.50 pm & 3:55 pm. The speed limit at this location is 30 mph. During the monitoring period today, a total of 392 vehicles were observed driving by the team - with 18 vehicles recorded speeding . 4 of whom were recorded driving in excess of 40 mph.
Community Speedwatch is a national initiative where proactive members of local communities join with the support of their local police, to record details of speeding vehicles.
Speeding might be an issue that you don’t consider serious, however it is one of the fatal four. The fatal four are the four offences which contribute the most to serious collisions.
In addition, speeding is constantly an issue that communities in Derbyshire highlight as being a significant problem and one they wish to see action taken. That’s why our groups target those areas which have been reported by the community as high-risk roads.
Policing isn’t just about tickets, it’s also about education and community involvement, and Community Speedwatch encompass the two.
Are you Interested in Volunteering? - How do I sign up?To join please contact your local SNT or contact the Community Speed Watch team by email to AdminCSW@Derbyshire.Police.UK For more information on Derbyshire's Community Speedwatch Scheme - visit the Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team at www.crestderbyshire.org
Once again a big thank you from the Safer Neighbourhood Policing team to our 2 volunteers who completed the event this afternoon. | ||||
