West End Town Centre Teams - Joint Working - Good News |
||
The West End Town Centre Team C have had some fantastic examples of joint working with our close partners recently and I wanted to share a couple of incidents with you highlighting the joined up approach that all the West End teams take to achieve community safety.
TCT C officers were on patrol in Leicester Square, they were trialling carrying a MLB (My Local Bobby) Radio when a supervisor from MLB informed police he was actively restraining a suspect outside of Hippodrome Casino and required urgent assistance. Officers were on scene within moments and were able to arrest the suspect for affray to protect the public from injury.
TCT Officers were preparing for the weekend shifts when our volume crime team informed them that there was a high-risk stalking suspect in the area and would need arresting if sighted. PC Young and PC Smith quickly moved to the area, locating the suspect and arresting him for stalking with fear of violence, racially aggravated, thus protecting the public and the victim, who was a worker in the night time economy.
Whilst on foot patrol in the Soho area, PC Kovacs has heard a female arguing with an unknown male and shouting at him, ‘How Much?’. This has raised some suspicion, and PC Kovacs has approached the female and asked what they were asking the price of. The females have turned and walked off, further raising PC Kovac’s suspicion that they may have been offered drugs. PC Kovacs has detained the unknown male for a search and this male immediately became defensive and resistant, tensing up and pulling away from officers whilst being lawfully detained. PC Kovacs along-side Special Constable Milas have managed to control the subject and safely secure him in handcuffs before beginning a search. The search was positive as a bag of an unknown white substance was found in the subject’s pocket and he was therefore arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.
Whilst on the night shifts TCT C had the pleasure of working with a member of Gendarmerie from Switzerland, these are great opportunities for idea sharing and coming up with problem solving solutions.
Your West End teams are committed to working together with our partners for a safer West End for all who visit, reside, work and commute here. | ||
