Appeal following series of robberies near Northampton’s Racecourse

Were you in the Racecourse area in the early hours of today (Sunday, October 5)?

Detectives investigating a series of robberies around Northampton’s Racecourse are appealing for witnesses and anyone with CCTV or information to get in touch.

We’ve received eight reports of people being approached and robbed there between 3am and 5.30am this morning, by a group/s of between three to six men who stole items including e-scooters and bikes.

The suspects are described as white men, aged between 18 and early 20s. All wore dark or grey clothing and spoke English. 

One suspect is described as around 6ft 3in, with the others all shorter than this.

Additional police patrols are taking place in the Racecourse area today and overnight, with anyone with concerns invited to speak to officers.

Anyone who has any information, including CCTV or dash-cam footage, is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
