Safer railways

Our Scarborough, Eastfield and Filey Neighbourhood Policing Teams have been proactively working with officers from British Transport Police (BTP) on a regular basis for over two years.

With the railways being used by our residents and visitors, but policed by BTP, we have adapted to working together to ensure both BPT and our local officers have the same valuable information to keep our communities safe.

Our joint patrols allow our officers to travel on the rail network, increasing our presence to deter criminality and anti-social behaviour.

Recently, we have assisted BTP with disrupting fare evasion, we have arrested wanted people, we have swiftly responded to domestic violence situations and assisted with medical emergencies.

However, this is a small snapshot of the work that we do. We will continue with our partnership working with BTP and look forward to seeing you on the railways!
