Increase in Parcel Delivery Thefts

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Personal theft (e.g. pick pocketing, no violence used), which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

We are aware of a recent increase in parcel delivery thefts in the area. Offenders are targeting packages left on doorsteps, in communal hallways, or outside properties after delivery.

What you can do to help protect your deliveries:
• Arrange for parcels to be delivered when you are at home, or to a trusted neighbour.
• Use official parcel collection points or locker services where possible.
• Request delivery companies place parcels out of sight, not in communal areas.
• Be alert to suspicious behaviour in your street or building, and report incidents immediately.
• If you have CCTV or video doorbells, check recordings for unusual activity.
