Silhill WMnow Update

Good morning everyone,
First of all, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to all those affected in the very recent and horrific Manchester Attack. Since it has happened myself and the team have been working very closely with our Jewish Community to offer as much visible protection and reassurance while they continue with an important time of worship. You may have seen an increased police presence in the area, please rest assured this is purely a precautionary measure and nothing to worry about.
 

Crime Update:
There has been a theft of motor vehicle on Broad Oaks Road in the early hours of the 25th of September whereby unknown offenders have stolen a Blue Lexus from a driveway while the owner was not at home. They have stolen it by unknown means and have made off from the location.
 

In the early hours of the 29th of September there was a residential burglary on Dove House Lane where an offender has entered the address through the back door and stolen two items of jewellery from the kitchen. 
 

Good News:

The team have made an arrest for a serious assault which happened on patch whereby we assisted our response colleagues to secure the violent offender and get them behind bars.
 

The team have been out and about all week during school pick up and drop off times all over the area following concerns from a number of local residents and councillors who have highlighted some dangerous and irresponsible driving and parking around schools. We have taken the time to have a visible presence around the key locations and move along those obstructing other road users.
 

The team have been conducting increased patrols in some of our ASB hotspots as the darker nights begin to roll in to try and deter any issues. This has included joining some other teams to tackle significant disorder that took place in the Town Centre in Solihull. 
 

Speed Watch training was offered and gratefully accepted by our team to a number of local residents this past week and we are happy to report a significant increase in those trained and those looking forward to joining groups in the near future.
