Theft of Motor Vehicles

Dear Resident

There has been an increase in motor vehicles being stolen around the Oldham area , if you have a motor vehicle please take time to review your vehicle security.

It is recommended to have layered security. Use a steering lock / Disc lock, use faraday pouch/box for your keyless fob, consider installing a tracker system / Ghost alarm, or immobiliser (if not already factory fitted).

Always remove your valuable belongings. It could be the difference between your vehicle being targeted or not.

Some vehicles can be stolen without a key, making it considerably easier then many other cars on the market, this includes some Ford Fiestas, Land Rovers and Jaguars. its advised to take extra steps to keep your vehicle safe from criminals and theft.

Be vigilant to anyone acting suspiciously around homes/vehicles and report any suspicious activity to the police or any concerns on either 101 (non -emergency), or via our GMP LIVE CHAT (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency).
