Raising awareness of the growing threat of child exploitation in the South West. Knife crime is rising—and it’s no longer just an urban issue. It’s here, in our towns, our schools, and our neighbourhoods. Many of these violent incidents are linked to a hidden crisis: County Line gangs grooming and exploiting children—sometimes as young as 6 years old—to traffic drugs, carry weapons, and live in constant fear. County Line exploitation is highly organised, terrifyingly local, and growing fast. Knife crime involving children has increased in the South West There are now 6,600 active County Line gangs in England and Wales Over 70,000 children are caught in the web of exploitation Escapeline is working with families across Somerset, Dorset, and Wiltshire—many who never thought this could happen to their child. This is a vital opportunity for local business owners and professionals to better understand the risks, and how they can help protect children in their communities and workplaces.
Dorset Police are not running this, but we believe it would be a valuable overview for yourselves on the warning signs of Child Exploitation that could find it's way into your hotel rooms. We recently completed a leaflet drop around this in the Bournemouth area.
