Dear Resident On Wednesday 1st October, PC Parker from Wakefield Central NPT West led a drugs operation targeting vehicles and nominals believed to be involved in drug dealing within Wakefield City Centre.
Following community intelligence, PC Parker had identified the hotspot areas for drug dealing and some of the vehicles supplying to drug users within the city, uniformed and plain clothed officers were tasked with patrolling these areas.
Shortly after commencing the operation at 4.40pm, a male who is known to be involved with an Organised Crime Group was sighted by PC Parker, suspected to be dealing drugs in the vicinity of Sun Lane, the information regarding the suspect and vehicle was passed to NPT colleagues PCs Hamner & Swift who quickly located and stopped the vehicle. Following the stop search, a large quantity of cash, mobile phones and empty grip bags were located within the vehicle, all were seized as evidence along with the vehicle.
The male was arrested by PC Hamner for being Concerned in the Supply of Class A, Possessing Criminal Property and reported for driving without a licence & no insurance.
Several intelligence reports and stop searches were also carried out during the evening as officers continued with the proactive policing operation in the area.
