Anti Social Behaviour, Eggborough |
||
Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team in Eggborough have noted an increase in calls for service involving youth related anti social behaviour in the past month from 01/09/25 up to 3/10/25.
Reports have predominantly concerned young people gathering at the Village Hall which have included reports of the use of loud mopeds, general ASB and at the beginning of September, reports of fireworks being let off.
Other reports have included young people playing knock a door run on Westfield Court and causing a nuisance to community members at Eggborough Village Stores by circling vehicles on bicycles and preventing exit from the location.
Most latterly, reports have been that young people are using the fields to the rear of Sycamore Avenue and gathering in derelict barns at the location near to Teasel Hall and setting small fires.
At this time, the identity of young people following specific reports is unknown.
Your local team will continue to work on identifying any young people involved in reported anti social behaviour and take any required follow up action which will start with them being spoken to in front of parents.
To be clear, we will not move children and young people on who are not causing issues. Their presence alone is not an issue in most circumstances.
However some youngsters can find themselves getting drawn into anti social behaviour and their safety is of paramount importance to us.
Any behaviour that spills over into criminal acts such as criminal damage or assaults will be treated very seriously and offenders can expect to face action.
Please can we encourage you to speak to your children and ensure that they are choosing friendship circles wisely whilst out and about in the village and please reiterate the dangers of lighting fires?
Please be reminded that E – Scooters are not permitted to be ridden anywhere other than on private land.
Thank you,
Eggborough NPT. | ||
