Overnight Crimes

Hello all,

Just an update about the crimes reported on our ward overnight.

There was an attempted theft of a pedal cycle from someone's front garden on York Road. Fortunately, the bike was securely locked and the suspect left empty handed.

There was a theft of a motor vehicle on Sheen Road. The victim stated that their car keys were placed in a faraday pouch but unfortunately this didn't prevent the theft of their vehicle. The investigation is ongoing. I would advise that if you use a faraday pouch or bag to check if the bag or pouch is still working every few months. 

There was a theft from a motor vehicle on Duke Street. In this incident it was a delivery driver who had cases of alcohol stolen from their van. Unfortunately the van was not locked. I would advise everyone that even if you are just parked up for a short period of time to make sure you still lock your vehicle as it greatly reduces the possibility of it being targeted by an opportunist thief.
