Ask For Angela |
||
"Ask for Angela" is a safety initiative that allows people feeling unsafe, vulnerable, or threatened in a licensed venue to discreetly ask staff for help by saying the code-phrase "Angela". Venue staff are trained to recognize this code-phrase and will then assist the person by, for example, finding a taxi, contacting their friends, or calling security or the police to help them get to safety. The scheme is supported by the police, including the Metropolitan Police, and licensed businesses to enhance the safety of the night-time economy. How to use "Ask for Angela": How staff will respond: If You Are Not in a "Ask for Angela" Venue or It's an Emergency Non-Emergency: For non-emergency situations or general police enquiries, call the Met Police on 101. Emergency: In an emergency or if you are in immediate danger, call 999. Online: You can also report non-emergency crimes and make enquiries through the Metropolitan Police website.
