Glossop Police Cadets Speed Awareness Event held on Park Road, Hadfield - 1st October

Glossop SNT - Speed Awareness Event in Hadfield 

Members of the Glossop Cohort of Derbyshire Police Cadets completed a Speed Awareness Event yesterday evening, Wednesday 1st October, on Park Road, Hadfield.

The event was held between 6.35 pm and 7.10 pm with traffic being monitored in both directions by 2 teams. On this occasion no vehicles were recorded speeding - the speed limit on this road is 30 mph.

The cadets were accompanied by PCSO Buller from Glossop YET and three cadet leaders, they were also joined by local councillor Mr Ollie Cross and a resident, who showed their support for the cadets.

This location had been identified by local residents, who brought it to our attention as an area where speeing occurrs giving the cadets an ideal opportunity to complete and event there - improving team work and Policing skills.

ℹ️ Recruitment for the Glossop Cohort will now close at the end of October and not December as previously stated - We're looking for young people particularly from the Glossopdale and New Mills areas.

This group is for 13 to 18-year-olds and is held on Wednesday evenings during term-time - recruits will be taking part in social action projects and local initiatives aimed at giving you a real insight into policing, just like above.

As well as experiencing the different areas of policing such as task force, dog section, roads policing and other operational teams, you'll also be supported in attaining additional qualifications such as the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
