🚨 Phone Scam Alert – Fraudsters Posing as Police Officers 🚨

We’re warning residents to be cautious as fraudsters are making calls to landlines and mobile phones, claiming to be police officers. These scammers may say they’re investigating fraud or ask you to move money for “safekeeping.”

⚠️ These calls are scams. Once money is sent, it cannot be recovered.

What to do if you receive a suspicious call:

❌ Do not give out personal or financial information.

📞 Hang up immediately.

📵 Be aware: fraudsters may keep the phone line open, even after you hang up. Use a different phone to call your bank or wait at least 5 minutes before making another call.

🕵️‍♂️ If you want to check if a call is genuinely from the police, hang up and contact your local police force using a verified number or official website – never use a number given by the caller.
