Havering officers recognised by local Mayor for their outstanding life-saving efforts.

Three neighbourhood officers have been recognised by the Mayor of Havering for their outstanding life-saving efforts in Rainham.

Sergeant Basit and PCSO's Julia and Brian, all based in Rainham, were surprised with a visit from Havering’s Mayor, Councillor Sue Ospreay, who presented them with the Mayor’s Merit award. Local Beam Park residents Carol and Robert Baker, who nominated the officers, joined the presentation to thank them personally for their incredible service to the community.

The award comes after PCSOs Julia and Brian rushed to perform life-saving CPR on an elderly woman in Rainham last week. The woman had collapsed, but thanks to their swift response, she recovered and is now said to be doing well.
