Keeping Great Lever Safe - Police and Partners Working Together

As your neighbourhood policing team, we are aware of ongoing concerns raised by residents in and around John Cross Street. We want to reassure you that we are continuing to take positive and proactive action to address these issues.

Officers have been regularly patrolling the area, carrying out numerous stop searches, vehicle stops, and stop accounts. These efforts have already led to arrests being made for offences relating to drugs and offensive weapons. We are also working hard to identify further offenders involved in this activity, ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.

In addition, our Crime Prevention Officer has been attending the area to assess identified hotspots. They have provided recommendations on measures to help reduce anti-social behaviour and improve community safety, which are being put into action alongside our ongoing policing activity.

We have also been conducting knife sweeps, engaging with local businesses and the wider community to provide reassurance and support. Alongside this, we are holding regular meetings with partner agencies where clear action plans and initiatives are being developed to tackle the root causes of the problem.

Our aim is to reduce anti-social behaviour and criminality in the area and make Great Lever a safer place for everyone. We encourage residents to continue reporting suspicious or concerning behaviour. Your information is vital and helps us to focus our efforts where they are needed most.
