Local Prolific Shoplifter arrested 28/09/2025 |
||
I wanted to provide you an update regarding Shoplifting, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. On the 28th of September 2025 response officers attended a call on Lee High Road following reports of a well known shoplifter committing offences in the area. Officers conducted an area search and managed to find the Suspect. The Suspect was stooped and in his possession multiple stolen items were found. Checks were conducted and officers found that he was linked to multiple shoplifting incidents. The Suspect was arrested for multiple shoplifting offences and breach of a Criminal Behavior Order that was obtained by Lee Green Safer Neighborhood Officers. The Suspect has been remanded and due to be present in the Magistrates Court in October. Shoplifting is a crime that can have a substantial negative impact on local businesses across London. If you notice anything suspicious or witness anyone shoplifting, please report it as soon as possible. These reports are invaluable in letting us build a picture of when and where shop lifters operate, meaning we can be in the right place at the right time to arrest those responsible.
