Drypool bi-monthly update from your community policing team |
||
Dear residents.
This is you bi-monthly update for the Drypool ward regards news and updates around crime and anti-social behaviour. For the months of August and September 2025, the ward had the following crimes/incidents reported:
Crime -
Burglary to a residential property: 8 Criminal Damage: 28 Theft from a motor vehicle/vehicle interference: 9 Theft of a motor vehicle: 1 Theft of cycle: 7 Robbery: 7 Violence offences: 22
Anti-social behaviour - ASB - Personal: 2 ASB - Nuisance: 12 ASB - Environmental: 0
The summer months usually see an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour. This year, the community’s team have implemented a summer plan, which saw numerous joint patrols with Hull City Council ASB team, Renew outreach team and street scene officers to target street drinkers causing anti-social behaviour and other offences such as begging. This was to help enforce the current public spaces protection order obtained by Hull City Council to help tackle anti-social behaviour. Numerous arrests took place as well as dealing with a whole host of varying offences. The team also had a day of action targeting nuisance and illegal e-powered vehicles such as cycles and scooters. The most recent Humber talking surveys completed over the last 2 months has shown that residents are mainly reporting that they have no current issues to tell us about. Beyond this, some residents are reporting general ASB and issues around drug use/dealing. As a result of this information, a property in the Montrose Street area was showing some real concerns for residents. The local officers immediately begun research around this and spoke to numerous residents and officers from Hull City Council. The Drypool officers approached Hull magistrates court with overwhelming evidence of issues in and around this address and a closure order was granted, forcing the property to be closed to all parties for 3 months. We have also been working alongside a private housing provider to support them in their legal process to permanently take back possession of the property once the order has elapsed. We are aware that there have been reports regards other properties in the Montrose Street area, and some initial action has been taken against the tenants, with the properties being closely monitored. The community can expect to see an increased police presence and officers going door to door in the near future to gather evidence and information.
We are continuing to develop intelligence surrounding drug dealing and drug use and encourage residents and businesses to report these issues to help us build this intelligence pattern, so we know what is happening and where. There are plans ahead for some more robust action within the ward. You can report these types of issues online using the link below.

All intelligence received regards drug dealing will be treated with confidence and your details never disclosed. Information can be given via crime stoppers using the link below.

That’s all for now. You will receive a further update towards the end of November, or early December!
Best wishes,
