Update for all residents of Dulwich Wood |
||
Good afternoon Dulwich Wood residents,
The last few weeks have been very busy for Dulwich Wood Safer-Neighbourhoods team.
Firstly, I would like to say goodbye to Sergeant Zissler who has left Dulwich Wood and Dulwich Village wards and moved onto Goose Green and Champion Hill. On behalf of Dulwich Wood, thank you so much for all the help and support you have given the teams and most importantly, the brilliant service you have given to both Dulwich Wood and Dulwich Village wards. Due to this, I would love to give a very warm welcome to Sergeant Warner who has replaced Sergeant Zissler and started his role last week. He comes to Dulwich wards with an excellent skill set and experience from previous Safer-Neighbourhoods and response team. He is very excited to start work on the wards!
PC Wake has successfully passed her taser course earlier on this month. This means she is trained and authorised to carry a taser. This is another great skill set that she is now bringing to the ward to keep residents and colleagues safe.
In a good news story, two males were arrested on the ward for stealing power tools from a van. They had broken into a van and stolen various tools and when officers attempted to stop the vehicle, they made off from police. Luckily they were later apprehended after a short foot chase and the stolen tools were found in the back of the car as well as other stolen items. A brilliant job by our Interceptor colleagues.
In other news, as we enter Autumn, we usually see an increase in certain crimes such as robbery. Dulwich Wood Safer-neighbourhoods have already been conducting multiple assemblies with schools on the ward. This is to inform students about having their phones out in their hand and not being aware of their surroundings. We’ve also made students aware of who to call or contact should they find themselves worried about anything. This includes highlighting that local shops and restaurants can act as a safe place if children are worried when walking back from school, especially as the nights get darker.
Officers know that it is a very busy time of year coming up for the ward and therefore multiple operations and shift changes have been planned to reflect this. It ensures that officers are on the ward at the best times to combat any anti-social behaviour or crimes occurring and to reassure residents.
If you have any concerns or worries please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
The Dulwich Wood Safer-Neighbourhood team | ||
