General Update

Dear residents,

An update regarding what’s been happening in your areas.

Over the past several weeks we have responded to numerous incidents in the town and surrounding areas resulting in arrests for various offences. 10 persons were arrested for various thefts with numerous items of stolen items recovered collectively, 1 arrest for harassment, 1 arrest for theft of bike, 7 arrests for various assaults and 6 arrests were made for persons failing to attend court.

6 other people were dealt with via Community Resolutions for thefts. 

Due to the ongoing nuisance bikes in the Snowfields area three people who were previously served with Community Protection Warnings who have breached these have now been served with Community Protection Notices. Fail to adhere to this could result in prosecution or a fixed penalty notice. We’re pleased to say that calls to the area for nuisance bikes has greatly reduced.

We are still receiving calls in relation to youths using catapult’s against wildlife and to cause criminal damage in general. As a result, we have managed to apprehend 6 youths for offences being committed by in the parks and surrounding areas. Most have now been interviewed and awaiting outcomes.
