Appeal for information launched after woman is assaulted in Chaddesden

We are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was assaulted by a man in Chaddesden.

The incident happened in the street on Meath Avenue at about 11pm on Friday 8 August.

A man arrived at the location in a dark-coloured Ford Fiesta, got out of the vehicle and headed towards a block of flats.

On his way back to his car, the man damaged the wing mirror of a vehicle parked outside.

A woman who owns the vehicle then confronted the suspect, who got into his car and drove along the curb towards her.

He then attacked the woman, leaving her with serious facial injuries.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on conditional bail.

Investigating officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or has any information about the incident to please come forward.
