Two charged following operation targeting North Herts drug gang

Two people have been charged following an operation carried out to target a drug gang.

Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s County Lines Investigation Unit, supported by the Operational Support Group, raided two addresses in Hitchin on Thursday (25 September).

During the operation officers seized more than £10,000 in cash and drugs (cocaine, heroin and cannabis) with a street value of up to £5,000. Weapons including a viable firearm, imitation firearms, a crossbow and several machetes were also recovered.

Detective Sergeant Chris Cowell, from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Serious and Organised Crime Command, said: “We are pleased to have secured charges in relation to this case and we will continue our investigation ahead of the impending court date next month.”
