St Damian's open evening - parking issues

Residents,

We just wanted to make you aware that St Damian's school have their open evening on Monday 29th September between 17:30-19:30.

We do know that previous years this has caused problems for some residents as visitors to the school have not parked considerately and have parked fully blocking pavements.

Last year the school did utilise the carpark of the temple on Lees road, which did alleviate some of the problem, but previously we have had to issue vehicles traffic offence reports for causing unnecessary obstructions.

The Hurst neighbourhood team are on rest day on Monday but we have made the neighbourhood Sergeant who is on duty aware of the previous problems.

I have emailed the school to ask if they will be utilising the temple car park again and to ask them to put a message out on their social media asking visitors to park considerately and to warn them if they don’t they may receive a traffic offence report.

If cars are parking fully on the pavement, which is causing an obstruction (have to walk onto road to pass, or cannot get a wheelchair passed) then please report this to GMP on either 101 or via GMP live chat.
