Safety First at Safety Central!
This week, PCSO Michelle and PC Ward supported an educational safety visit for WEAVERHAM PRIMARY ACADEMY pupils at @SafetyCentral Thanks to funding from Weaverham Parish Council for transport, Key Stage 2 pupils enjoyed a full day of interactive learning covering: Online Safety Bedroom Hazards & Fire Scenarios Lithium Batteries Kitchen Safety Train Safety Car Safety Bike Safety Power Station Awareness Water Safety Anti-Social Behaviour Road Safety
Morning quiz score: 46.8% Afternoon quiz score: 93.6% What a fantastic improvement!
A huge thank you to @CheshireFire and @WeaverhamParishCouncil for making this impactful day possible. Cheshire Fire will return later in the year to retest pupils' learning and reinforce these vital safety messages.
This week, PCSO Michelle joined the 2nd Sandiway Rainbows for a hands-on mock road traffic collision activity!
Each Rainbow got to dress up in old police uniform and explore exciting roles like:
Senior Investigating Officer Police Officer CSI
Also discussing others that help us such as
Firefighters Ambulance Crew
The Rainbows then took on the bleep test challenge — smashing it with a finish at level 5.4 alongside me! We wrapped up with a brilliant Q&A where the Rainbows asked:
“Can we play with the radio?” “How do you know who the bad guy is?” “How do you put on your uniform?” “Do you always catch criminals?” “Do criminals stay in prison forever?”
Fantastic afternoon of fun, thank you Rainbows for your energy, curiosity, and smiles!
"Who Are The Police?" – Key Stage 1 at Cuddington Primary This week, Key Stage 1 pupils at Cuddington Primary School took part in an interactive session exploring the question: Who are the police?
The session included:
Drawing and writing what pupils thought police officers do — both before and after the session to show what they learned. A discussion about Police Constable (PC) and Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) beat officers. Learning about the roles of police officers and police staff. Understanding how and when to contact the police, including the importance of dialling 999 in emergencies.
Pupils were rewarded for their fantastic participation with a sticker and three house points!
A big thank you to the staff and pupils at Cuddington Primary for your enthusiasm and brilliant questions.
Also this week, I visited Petty Pool College to meet with staff and discuss their tailored needs for an upcoming Online Safety Awareness Session. It was a productive conversation, and I’m really looking forward to delivering a session that supports their students.
