Dear residents, We’re pleased to update you on the ongoing work being carried out by your local policing team to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) in and around Westgate Park. Following concerns raised by members of the community, we’ve taken a number of steps over recent weeks, including: 🔹 Increased patrols – Officers have been regularly patrolling the park during peak times to provide visibility, reassurance, and deter unwanted behaviour. 🔹 Engagement with young people – We’ve been working with local schools and community groups to positively engage with young people and highlight the consequences of ASB. 🔹 Working with partners – We’ve teamed up with the local housing team and community safety teams to address issues directly with residents. 🔹 Use of enforcement powers – Where necessary, individuals causing persistent issues have been dealt with using appropriate legal measures, including dispersal notices. Your reports and feedback have been vital in helping us target the right areas, and we encourage you to continue reporting any concerns to us. Anti-social behaviour affects the whole community, and we remain committed to making Westgate Park a safe and enjoyable place for everyone. We are aware of other issues around the location regarding the use of illegal vehicles and they are being investigated. Thank you for your support and thank you to Paul Martin for all the hard work he has done in supporting this community.
Many thanks and kindest regards, PCSO Nicholls 8848
