E-Bike thefts in Whitby area

NYP have identified that E-bike thefts are trending and information gathered in the Whitby area suggests that there has been more thefts than actually reported? Therefore we are appealing to owners of E-bikes to check their sheds and other storage facilities where they keep them to ensure they are safe and secure.

If you discover your cycle has been stolen please report it immediately to North Yorkshire Police on Tel - 101 giving as much details as possible about the bike and when it was last seen.

We urge owners and keepers of E-bikes to ensure they are well secured in locked outhouses/sheds/garages, good quality bike locks used when not in use and air tags/trackers placed in or on the bike should it be lost or stolen at some point.
