Dear Resident,
Officers have seized a number of vehicles this week whilst out on patrols. During our officer’s routine patrols of our area they will often come across motoring offences. Here are some of the many vehicles stopped below:
This Ford and Vauxhall were seized by officers from their owners after it transpired that both drivers were provisional licence holders. They were both driving unsupervised with no L plates. Both drivers will be reported for the motoring offences alogn with losing their vehicle. This Audi was after it made off from officers. The vehicle was located after a short area search and a search of the vehicle showed it contained a quantity of cash and drugs. The driver had made off from the vehicle however evidence was located which can assist in identifying the driver. Enquiries are ongoing. This Honda was seized from the owner after officers stopped the driver who did not have a driving licence or insurance for the vehicle. To top that off this was the second time this week that the male had been stopped by the same officers. As you can see from the photo the vehicle was carrying an unsafe load.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been dealing with Anti-social behaviour at different locations which although in a number of cases peaked during the summer holiday are still ongoing. Members of the team have been conducting targeted patrols, obtaining and checking CCTV relating to the persons involved and then where persons are identified we have conducted a number of visits to their addresses to speak to them and their parents. We continue to conduct foot patrols and mobile patrols of the locations identified.
Officers and PCSOs on the team have been conducting patrols around schools on our four wards in relation to parking issues. We receive a number of reports relating to vehicles parking on the white zig zag lines by crossings and the yellow zig zag lines outside of the school gates. Any vehicles found to be parking on the zig zags will be issued a fixed penalty ticket.
As always over the past couple of weeks we have been patrolling our hotspots for stolen vehicles depositions. As part of those patrols these two Nissan Navara pickups were recovered at two separate locations. Finally a Cannabis factory containing 120 Cannabis plants was located at a residential address on The Holbrook Ward after an attempted break in. Officers have attended the address following the initial report and discovered that cannabis was being grown in a number of rooms including the loft.
Crime Figures There were Two reported vehicle offence in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward. These were both Theft from Motor Vehicle offences that took place on Nunts Lane and Lythalls Lane. There were Two reported burglary offence in the past Nine Days on the Holbrooks Ward.
