COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS

Good morning all,

As a local beat officer I am lucky that I get invited to local community events. On Monday I attended Beavers - 1st Ditton Scout group where I was asked lots of questions about being a police officer. I was asked what are the best and worst bits of being a police officer. I showed off the police car and all the gear that I carry. I also showed off my handcuffing skills on one of the Scout leaders. We played police games (catch the robber) but also used the opportunity to talk about the raising issues of catapults. We spoke about lawful reasons for carry catapults for instance when they are being used for fishing.

Over the summer holidays I attended community events in Larkfield, Ryarsh and Wouldham. If there is any local events that you feel would benefit from police attendance please let me know and we will fit them in where available.
